Volunteering at Re:Store

Volunteering at Re:Store

I would like to talk about my experience as a volunteer at ReStore in Anaheim because I think I really learned a lot from the experience.

I thought that my role as a volunteer would be to move things around, but I ended up doing a lot more than that. I helped build cabinets, move furniture, unload furniture donations, and help pack furniture for people to take home. Some things were hard because I had to lift heavy things, but at the same time, it felt really good knowing that I was helping people.

One thing that I really enjoyed about my experience was helping people unload the furniture. This really made me think about the amount of work that people must put in to make sure that the things people are donating can be used instead of going to the dump.

The thing that I learned from my experience is that I am really lucky. Being there made me realize that I am really lucky to have the things that I do and to be in the position that I am in. We do not always think about the things that we do have, but we really do appreciate the little things in life, such as the fact that we can use things such as tables and cabinets to help another person.

As a junior in high school, I also learned a lot about myself as a person from my experience as a volunteer. I learned that helping people doesn’t always have to be something really big. Even helping people move furniture or build cabinets can really make an impact.

Overall, my experience as a volunteer at ReStore in Anaheim made me really appreciate my life. I also learned that helping people is not just about helping people; you are also helping yourself.
