Driving Lesson

Driving in a Toyota Prius with my instructor was an important step toward getting my driver’s license. We drove South from my area to Torrance and back again, stopping in Long Beach several times along the way. While on the 91 Freeway, it felt like I was driving instead of just practicing in a parking lot.

I found parking to be the hardest part of driving because you need to be so precise with your placement and aware of yourself. My instructor was very good in helping me develop the skills and techniques I will need to pass the driver’s license test, such as checking my mirrors, controlling my speed, and observing other vehicles that are close.

I had an unusual experience on the drive because we passed by a vehicle that had the steering wheel on the right side (that you would see in many other countries but not so much in the USA). On the whole, I learned so much and had an awesome driving experience!
